They swam. They biked. They ran. Wyatt's Warriors (Adam, Brendan, Chris, Cyrus, Ilene, Justin, Lindsay - in spirit, Mat, Steve, Takisha, and Tonja) completed the Sandman Triathlon in honor of Wyatt despite the ridiculous 90 degree heat and 80% humidity. Racers - your strength, dedication and endurance is amazing! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And because of your efforts and the generous spirits of everyone who supported you, The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund is $10,800 closer to finding a cure for FA!
I know that all of you crossed the finish line with Wyatt in your hearts. And, I hope that someday he crosses that finish line right next to you.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our fundraising efforts. And, as always, thank you for reading and thinking of our little guy Wyatt.
Wyatt started school last Wednesday. He has been loving every second of it...truly, every last second. I have to almost carry him out everyday. His teacher said today that she thinks he would sleep there if he could and she's probably right. So even though I am full of reservations about putting him back too soon, it makes me feel good to know that he is having such a great time. It will all be worth it in the end.
This weekend is the triathlon. We are excited to see everyone's hard work pay off when they cross the finish line. Give a little 'go team' shout on Sunday morning. And a big thank you to everyone who helped the racers raise over $7,500! A big 'go team' shout for that one!
