Happy Halloween!

We are back from Minnesota just in time for Wyatt's favorite holiday...Halloween!  Things went well.  He had a very long day of poking, proding, testing, etc.  He handled it so, so well - just like always.  The tests that provided immediate results looked good.  We need to wait about a week for his biopsy results.  The doctors are not expecting to see anything different this time around.  So, we are crossing our fingers for no surprises.  Unfortunately, FA is full of surprises.  We met with several specialists who gave us a lot of information about FA from their specific perspectives...much of which was very difficult to hear.  We are sort of switching gears now - looking beyond the transplant and focusing back on Fanconi Anemia and all of it's potential complications beyond bone marrow failure.  The meetings with the specialists were harsh reminders of how devastating FA is and of all the challenges that Wyatt will likely have in his life.  I feel like a bone marrow transplant should be enough.  I so wish that I could say, 'yeah..he did it.  he's better.  he's going to be okay.'.  Sadly, that is just not the case.  I hope that someday that will be a possibility.

Our family had a suprise for Wyatt when he got back.  He came home to very spooky house (lots of scary decorations), gifts and a spider cake.  He was so thrilled!  It was just what he needed.  Wyatt does love a party - especially when it's a party for him.

I will post the results of his tests as soon as we get them back.  Thanks for reading!!
